I bought this book in Beijing and ended up buying multiples to give to all of our friends who planned on traveling to China. The book is unique in that it covers every thing from folk art to anthropology to food, customs, etc. I have many books on Chinese customs and folk art ,but this one is where I go first and it is light enough to travel.

Things Chinese is a near perfect reference book. In fact, no one should come to China without having a copy. I have lived in China for two years and have many reference books, but this is the best for any traveler to understand things Chinese in a simple format.
